Participating in Get Connected 2010 as a keynote speaker was an honor. Meeting so many new contacts was very important and rewarding. Get Connected is like a family reunion. For me the opportunity to connect with Joe Salerno (attendee from Jupiter, Florida) was very fortunate. We will be working on several joint projects in the near future. The speakers this year were amazing and I took so many great messages with me. Thank you for the event and the opportunity.

I was in Eau Claire today and talked with Gordy. He is so excited about the conference and I overheard him telling someone about how great it was. I talked with him after the meeting. He explained that following GC10, he headed to Palm Springs for a different conference. He told me that "he was very disappointed" at the quality of the other conference after having just attended GC10. You two really set the bar high and definitely touched his life and impressed him deeply. Testimonial from Gordy Pillar as relayed by Sue Henry, SueHenryTalks.com
I've really enjoyed listening to Frank's tapes and have lent a few of them to others I think need to hear them
It was great meeting you guys put on this year and I am looking forward to next year. I think western Wisconsin will have a much larger presence next year as I have been cheerleading the conferencee to our BNI chapters here in Wisconsin.

GetConnected2010 was an incredibly valuable experience. The people who attended were amazing - talented, driven, focused and generous. Every single person I met was truly committed to the both the concept of Givers Gain and to concrete expressions of the principle. It's one thing to talk about Givers Gain, it's quite another for each and every person to ask "What is your biggest goal for 2010 and how can I make it happen?" or some variation thereof. The business cards I walked away with from this event are priceless, and I intend to follow up with many of these contacts for years to come. These are the relationships that will change my business and my life.

As an attendee at Get Connected 2009, I figured I knew what I was getting myself into in 2010 when I agreed to be a sponsor. I expected a table and perhaps attend some talks to refresh my networking tips...Boy, did I get more than I bargained for!
Before the event even began, I had the honor of escorting Iain Whyte to my Wednesday morning BNI meeting. On the return trip, I received sage advice on my business as well as how I can benefit more in and from my chapter.
The evening before the event, the sponsors and speakers were invited to a networking mixer in the Jackie Gleason Suite at the Hotel. As luck would have it, Dr. Ivan Misner and myself arrived early and I had the pleasure of his company to myself for good hour. Later, a great time was had by all at dinner.
On Friday, Bob Nicoll's talk started everyone in a positive direction. After all, how could it "not"?
Ivan spoke of, amongst other things, the butterfly effect and I couldn't help but see the parallels between his meeting Richard Branson and my meeting him (Ivan) last year. The rest of the evening was just as uplifting.
As a sponsor, I thought I'd just provide some signs and awards and receive some table space in exchange. However, LuAnn asked me to present the awards to the speakers. It was that an incredible amount of visibility and I truly felt a part of the Get Connected family.
Throughout the rest of the weekend, I attended session after session. Every talk was new and exciting. I had 1-2-1's in between. I had lunches and dinners with the various speakers. I racked my brain for questions to improve my business and posed every question that I could. I came home with new alliances, new friends, new associates, new clients, new directions, new ideas... and... most importantly, a new focus.
In my business, I've come to value time more than money. This event was time well spent.

I wanted to pass this on to you, so you could see the results of a connection made at GC10. This is so awesome!
Sue was introduced to the producer of the Dr. Phil Show by Michelle Villalobos, a fellow speaker at Get Connected 2010 via an e-mail as follws: "Sue is doing something called "The Tiara Experiment" (http://suehenryblog.typepad.com/sue_henry_talks_blog/the-tiara-experiment/) and her mission is to touch 1,000,000 lives in 2010. How could I resist making this introduction, knowing that with Dr. Phil's help she could succeed beyond her wildest dreams?"

Remember The Ice
Get Connected 2009 was an impactful event. Those who made the trip to sunny St. Petersburg certainly got their money's worth. Coming from Alaska, I was committed to make sure I received some great information. The highlight for me was the simple and profound concepts taught by Amy Kilpatrick and David Crumbaugh in their "Connecting the Dots" program. Their company is called, "Nspired Networking". I must say I was, and continue to be inspired by the empowering concepts taught by Amy and David. They have helped me to be more specific in defining my target market.

Last weekend we went to the Get Connected Conference, where we got to do some amazing networking, learned quite a bit from a number of networking experts, and we got a client, FROM ALASKA!!!
I am looking forward to utilizing some of the things I learned...
Earlier this year I was at another conference, and it was recommended that successful professionals invest 10% of their income on education & bettering yourself.
I love to learn, and enjoy every opportunity to learn more... so my business is better, and I can better help those around me (especially my clients).
Thanks for reading... and I encourage you to invest in some education (whether free material or paid)!

Hearing Frank DeRaffele speak is always a great opportunity. What he shared with respect to how we are all in different businesses with a different listening of our respective target markets really helped me get BETTER CONNECTED with how I need to be communicating with the marketplace as I continue to focus on “what’s possible”.
PS… Of course Dr Misner is always absolutely BRILLIANT and having an opportunity to see him speak live and meet and speak with him face to face is always wonderful…
PS… Great job to you ladies with regards to the seemless rollout and scheduling of the event… Good stuff… Very well coordinated… Those that weren’t there certainly missed out…
Hope you enjoyed and are taking care.

Nspired Networking
Nspired was able to “Connect The Dots” at the Get Connected 09 conference on so many levels for our business that it was well worth the trip. Nspired is a corporation that offers workshops and seminars that mainly focus on developing the skills necessary for networking. So when we are attending a conference of this sort we have several objectives that we are looking to achieve. The first is that we are new and we need to make people aware of who we are and what we are about, and we were able to do this by not only being a sponsor but also a presenter. The second objective is to work with professionals from all industries and show them that we have a tool that they can use not only as members of BNI but in all of their networking opportunities. At the Get Connected 09 conference we offered a group one-to-one session on Saturday afternoon, for any attendees who had questions, and we were very pleased that we had over 15 show up for this extra time. This allowed Nspired to work directly with BNI members who really have the passion to grow their referrals. This was a great opportunity for us to share what a great referral for Nspired looks like. In doing so, we were able to connect with several professionals that we can add to our power team. The third objective is to work with our peers and in doing so get the feedback on our presentation and ideas from others such as Bob Nicoll, Author of Remember The Ice, Mike Macedonio and Dawn Lyons with Referral Institute and so many of the other great professionals that helped make the event a success.
To sum it up… when I have to opportunity to attend a conference with this many BNI directors and members it is like going to a very special BNI chapter meeting … that I walk away from with those little things we call referrals!

I’ve been to conferences here in Minnesota, but this is my first out of state. It’s been a week since the conference and I’m still organizing the blizzard of information I received. On Friday night Dr Misner spoke about the economy and the changes and how with BNI education you are going to be able to beat the recession. It was very inspiring. It was an ooohh my god moment! Dr Misner spoke of the myth of the 6 degrees principal. He discussed being more focused with the referral process. You have to have a laser focus on the types of referrals you are looking for; moving from general to specific.
This theme continued throughout the weekend. Each speaker was passionate about their topic and inspiring. It was great being able to talk to them individually during breaks and round tables. At the end of each day I felt I needed to catch my breath. There were many useful topics from recession proofing your business to Bob Nicholl’s “Remember the Ice”, selecting your words to convey a positive message.
I am taking away more than I can convey in these short paragraphs, but I received a lot of useful information and strategies to apply to my business during 2009. I’m already looking forward to Miami 2010.
